Full Moon Eclipse, Love, & The Sunrise.
The Weekly Bloom
Hello Blooming Soul,
Last week, I lost another love of my life — my dog, Brandi. I considered writing the Weekly Bloom, but honestly, I wasn’t in the mood. My head wasn’t in the right space. Many memories and feelings arose within me, and my energy shifted a bit as I relived those moments. I needed time to sit with them.
Although my dog hadn’t lived with me for the past few years, she had been with my ex-boyfriend and was still our child. It was heartbreaking to receive the news; almost eleven years of stories, adventures, and so much love.
Grief has a way of reminding us how deeply we have loved.
As I shared my loss with others, I found out that a few people in my world had also unexpectedly lost someone in theirs. Hearing this reminded me of how quickly we can lose a loved one — a pet, a friend, a coworker, family — at any moment.
Have you ever noticed how loss can soften the way we see the people around us?
It also made me aware of how many people might be walking through life grieving without anyone knowing. If I hadn’t shared my loss, would they have shared theirs?
While grieving, it can be healthy to talk about our loss. It can help the healing process and lighten our hearts a little. Being able to share how we loved, the good memories we carry, and even what we wish we could have done differently — it all helps us move through the motions and release emotion.
Rooted Reflections
One thing I have reflected on this past week is how much love and support I have in my life. I am so grateful for the people in my world and the amount of compassion and care they embody. The hugs, the “I’m sorry”s, the understanding. Even the unspoken words and light touches that say, “You’re not alone. I see you”.
In times like this, we realize how love continues to move through our lives — through the people who hold us, the memories that stay with us, and even the animals who leave paw prints on our hearts.
I couldn’t ask for more amazing humans (and animals) in my life, and not just in the moments of losing a loved one.
A Sacred Message
The Knight of Cups
The Knight of Cups is a charismatic card. It represents the classic romantic; wearing your heart on your sleeve and showing your passionate soul.
As an archetype, it is someone who loves the idea of love — someone who is not afraid to show you how they feel through their actions. They are in touch with their emotions and will go after what they desire. A knight in shining armour.
As an energy or characteristic, it can signal a time to express yourself freely (as I did about the loss of my dog). It could be time to tap into your intuition and creativity. Have you been thinking about taking an art class? Just do it. Have you been wanting to tell someone how you truly feel? Now might be the time.
It could signal the start of a love affair or a coming romance.
The Knight of Cups demonstrates empathy and love. It could also represent a time of gushing emotions or feeling as though you are drowning in your own feelings.
If you’re resonating with any of these messages, sit with yourself for a moment. Place a hand on your heart and tune in to what it is saying.
What does your heart need right now?
Moon Moments
Today, we had a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse. This Full Moon Eclipse is on March 3rd (third month and third day), reached its peak at 3:33 A.M. PST, and was at 12 degrees (1+2=3) in Virgo. That’s a whole lot of threes!
The number 3 symbolizes connection, unity, friendships, mental balance, beginnings, communication, and celebrations. It is the number of increased joy or opportunity.
A Full Moon is a time of completion and the coming of fruition of what was planted with intention at the New Moon.
With this eclipse landing on the Pisces-Virgo axis, it is asking us to reflect and uncover what we might need to balance within our spirituality, dreams, and indulgences (Pisces) and our day-to-day lives, routines, and physical health (Virgo).
We might experience some abrupt endings around these topics (Virgo also rules pets, so thinking about my loss of Brandi resonates at this time) as well as new beginnings.
The eclipse is asking us to reflect on how we might balance our spiritual health with our physical health. How can we dream while remaining grounded? What daily habits can we create to manifest our visions? What emotions within ourselves are being illuminated so that we can become more aware?
It’s a good time to consider your relationships — with your mind, body, soul, partners, loved ones, home, pets — and notice where balance and harmony are needed.
Cosmic Insights
We’re also experiencing a Mercury retrograde (in Pisces) that started on February 25th and will last until March 20th.
Mercury rules communication, intellect and thinking, technology, short-term travel, logistics, and contracts or plans. So when it’s in retrograde, it’s a time to slow down and “re-” everything!
This could include reviewing, reassessing, reevaluating, redoing, revisiting, or reconsidering…you get the gist!
It can lead to confusion, misunderstandings, delays, technology hiccups, travel issues, and things feeling out of order. It could also lead to rekindling connections, recreating projects, or remembering information…such as memories or feelings.
Seems to be a theme this week, eh?
In the sign of Pisces, which rules dreams, illusions, intuition, emotions, and spirituality, we might feel the need to revisit feelings or relationships, reflect on what is going on inside of us and our connection to Spirit, or re-envision our plans.
During a Mercury retrograde, it might not be the best time to commit to travel plans, sign contracts, make impulsive decisions, or start big projects. It’s better to slow down, rethink and reevaluate through journaling, meditation, revising, or even reconnecting with old friends or inspirations.
This could be a beautiful time for deeper healing, connecting to your mystical side, or emotional release.
Allow it to flow through you and tune into your intuition.
What’s Nurturing My Soul Right Now…
Waking up with the sunrise.
And on the mornings when I have to wake up before the sun peeks above the hedges, I now have an alarm clock that imitates the sunrise.
I was getting really irritated with the beep-beep-beep of my phone alarm, hitting snooze a million times, only to wake up again and again to the same annoying sound.
I had had enough.
Every morning, I woke up feeling groggy, sleepy, and annoyed at the way I was starting my day.
When I found an alarm clock that would wake me up with “sunlight” and singing birds, I instantly bought it.
Now I wake up peacefully. The bright light fills my bedroom, my eyes slowly open, I stretch out my limbs, and gently get out of bed.
This is the one I bought and highly recommend ⟶ Dreamegg Sunrise Alarm Clock.
Now whether it’s winter, spring, summer, or fall, I can wake up with a sunrise.
A Parting Piece
A little quote to leave you with…
“We suffer more often in imagination than in reality.”
- Seneca
May you take gentle care of your heart this week and enjoy quiet moments of reflection, love, and presence. If this letter resonated with you, feel free to share it with someone you know who might need it this week.
Keep blooming — xoxo.
