The Autumn Equinox: A Sacred Turning Point
A time to seek balance, be grateful, and begin the journey inward.
Today, we step into the Autumn Equinox — a season of release, balance, and the journey inward.
Twice each year, the Earth pauses in perfect harmony — equal parts day and night, light and dark. This sacred turning point shifts us from the outward energy of summer into the slowing rhythm of fall, preparing us for the deep journey inward that winter’s rest brings.
Now is the time to reflect on the harvest of our year — the lessons we’ve learned, the growth we’ve experienced, and the energy we’re ready to release or renew. Like an energetic Thanksgiving, this is a time to honour the work we have done, in both our inner and outer worlds, and to give thanks for all of our blessings.
Autumn reminds us to harmonize outer expression with inner stillness, to embrace the dance between action and rest, expansion and contraction. You can see this dance mirrored in the trees — actively releasing their leaves while slowly pausing, gathering strength for next spring. 🍂
✨What area of your life might be out of balance and asking for adjustment?
Astrologically, this equinox marks the moment the Sun enters Libra, the sign of beauty, partnership, and harmony. Libra energy invites us to seek balance in our relationships, appreciate life’s beauty, and create fairness and equilibrium. With the recent solar eclipse in Virgo amplifying this moment, we’re encouraged to set intentions for new beginnings, personal growth, holistic health, and deeper alignment in how we show up for ourselves and others.
And of course, for many of us, this season also means cozy sweaters, pumpkin lattes, and gathering with loved ones.
If you feel called to honour this day, here are a few simple rituals you might want to try:
Abundance Ritual — Cook or enjoy a seasonal meal and give thanks for the food you are blessed to have access to.
Release Ritual — Take a mindful walk in nature, notice the shifting colours, and let the falling leaves remind you of what you’re ready to release.
Gratitude Ritual — Light a candle and write down three things you are grateful for, letting the flame symbolize the balance between light and dark.
Happy Autumn Equinox, my friends. May this season guide you inward, restore balance, and remind you of all there is to be grateful for. 🙏
Namaste.
